Clays
In our product portfolio we have raw and processed clays for different industry segments, such as: Ceramic Coatings, Ceramic Houseware and Technical Ceramics. Among the products, it is worth highlighting:
RESISTEC PLUS CLAY: The strong worldwide trend towards larger ceramic slabs, the need for raw materials with high plasticity becomes indispensable in the forming stage. For this purpose, Colorminas provides the Resistec clay to promote real gains in resistance to green bodies and dry bodies, which consequently can successfully provide ceramic slabs free of defects after the pressing stage, avoiding failures such as cracks, wearing, and especially preventing material failures in the production process.
ELASTEC CLAY: when it is applied to engobes and glaze formulations simultaneously in some specific products, significantly reduces the occurrence of fissures and cracks, resulted from movements in the glazing line and buffer box or compenser, in addition to its affordable cost compared to other additives to enhance plasticity.
Silk screen base
Screen printing is a widespread technique in the ceramic manufacturing process:
it consists of depositing ink through a screen, which can be made of fabric, nylon, or silicone.
Colorbrilho
Developed by Colorminas, ColorBrilho fits in the concept of current technology for producing polished glazed porcelain tiles that reproduce shiny surface finishes.
The result of the product resembles natural marble and granite with an advantageous cost saving production.
Ceramic colours
They are made of pure oxides or synthetic inorganic pigments obtained from mixture of oxides or their compounds.
The ceramic colours are added to glazes or to ceramic bodies to give them colors of the most diverse shades and special effects.
Engobes
Engobe is the layer usually applied between the setter and enamel in order to:
- Eliminate setter surface failures.
- Due to its opaque characteristic, in processes that use red paste, it is very useful, eliminating the interference of the paste placement in the end product.
Glazes
The glaze is a glassy layer on the ceramic substrate, which provides a given color, texture, shine, and impermeability to the piece.
Frits
It is a glass (glazed) manufactured in refractory furnaces at temperatures of 1300 to 1500 °C [2372 to 2732 °F]
where a mixture of different raw materials are melted. We offer to our customers a portfolio of different types of frits, which can be white, transparent, or matte.
Ceramic grits
Ceramic grits are used to provide protection and aesthetics to ceramic products
There are ceramic grits for polished products (high layer), as well as for enhancing the abrasion resistance (harder).
Exclusive Nepheline by Colorminas
Material developed by Colorminas to replace imported nepheline, with superior performance in terms of texture, stability in different firing curves.
Its major application is in satin matt enamels and protective bases.
